Gifted students

It appears that nothing in this country can just be average, which makes me wonder where this phrase "average Joe" came from. About the gifted, from Washington Post. It is good to hear about the gifted every once in a while :)

Garrison Keillor summed it up nicely in his introduction to the Prarie Home Companion's monologue segment or tales from Lake Wobegon.

Lake Wobegon, where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and all the children are above average.

Apparently, it gives its name to this 'all above average' fallacy - WobegoneEffect
